The MAKARA ear is an idea that culminated from a trip to the post office sending and receiving transmission station at Makara, Wellington. Situated on the coastal region on top of the Makara hills these walled remains are the equivalent historic ruins of the pantheon or Roman ruins. The remaining skeletal shell of this station bears witness to the strategic sending/listening post which lay atop a gold mine with an abundance of quartz crystal.
