NATIVE BIRDS

Our relationship with nature has to be a partnership of respect. In my latest bird series I use demolition Kauri, where perhaps from the very tree that a gracious Huia perched, its fate was yet unknown.The native bird sculptures are part of an ongoing thematic series on Aotearoa indigenous birds. The genesis of this idea originated from many family trips to remote and idyllic regions in the North Island.
